12 Feb What Do You See?
Journal Reflection of Day 4 (11th February 2017)
“The word of the Lord came to me: ‘What do you see, Jeremiah?’” – Jeremiah 1:11
“And the Lord asked me, “What do you see, Amos?’” – Amos 7:8
“He asked me, ‘What do you see?’” – Zechariah 5:2
“Don’t you have a saying, ‘It’s still four months until harvest’? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest.” – John 4:35
What Do You See?
鼎泰丰小笼包! Someone asked me what do I see while I was fasting and I told her that I definitely have some powerful mirages of ‘鼎泰丰小笼包’ (Ding Tai Feng Xiao’s steamed dumplings). They are the best thing in the world! I almost always wanted them for my birthday!
At this point, I just want to add a quick word for those who are fasting. It is common to feel hungry and to experience a lower level of energy when you are fasting. You may also feel some dizziness, or slight headaches. These discomforts are not necessarily an indication for you to stop fasting. Your body is experiencing some detoxifying together with your soul.
Open Your Eyes
Today when I was reading John 4, I felt a prompting by the Holy Spirit to open my spiritual eyes to see beyond the physical realm. There are always evidences of hope and harvests if we let the Holy Spirit show us.
See the Divine in the Distressed
The nameless woman at the well was in despair and distressed. She was a social outcast and an alien to her own people. However, Jesus saw His daughter and a vital key to the revival of a whole town in Samaria. Jesus, I want to thank You for seeing in me a son and calling me into your work of love. Open my eyes to keep seeing You and seeing as You see. Thank You for seeing the divine in me. Yes, i know the answer to this can satisfy me so much more than, yes, even the legendary 鼎泰丰 Xiao Long Bao. I have food that many may know not of.
How do we see yourself?
How do we see others?
Hear the voice of the Holy Spirit,
“I love you, my son and daughter.”
